Patty was a beautiful lady whose presence could light up a room and fill it with positivity and warmth. She will be remembered fondly by all who went to Patty’s Marathon and Hucks in Mt. Vernon, where she was a cashier and shared her kindness with everyone. During Patty’s employment, she created a true community by investing in the lives of her regular customers. Her generosity and ability to lend a listening ear were unmatched and Patty was well respected for her genuine heart for others. Patty was a loving mother and grandmother and her family’s biggest cheerleader. She was a “go getter”, filling her days with ways to serve others. Patty was her grandchildren’s #1 fan, attending anything they participated in and making sure they could hear their “Mamaw” supporting them from the crowd. Patty was a stellar cook, making enough food to feed an army and no one could ever make rice as mouth-watering delicious as she could. She had a witty sense of humor that always had everyone laughing out loud to her famous one-liners. Patty was compassionate, exceptional at giving unconditional love, welcoming, funny, and an amazing example of how one person can make the world a better place. “We love you to the moon and back”, Patty’s famous saying, will continue to be shared by everyone in her family.
