Thomas Burton, 68, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, entered eternity after a short illness on Friday, January 25, 2025.
He was born 12/7/1956 in Chicago Illinois to Ernest (Tom) and Rita (Nee Johnson) Burton. Tom was an entrepreneur lastly having PoP’s on Chicago before he retired in Mount Vernon. Where he loved boating, fishing and cooking. His famous cat fish, pizza and Christmas cookies will be as missed.
Tom leaves behind the love of his life, Debbie Mohr; his three children: Christina Funk Catherine Nastasi & Jeremy Burton; Stepchildren: Jennifer, Anthony, Nicole & Sandra; tons of nieces, nephews, grandchildren & two great grandchildren. His quiver was full. Tom leaves behind sister Rita Ruggles brothers Shawn Burton, Patrick Burton David (Deb) Burton. Tom joins his parents Ernest & Rita and sister Bonnie in eternity.
Per Tom’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held.
