It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Carol Elaine Bierman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the age of 85.
Carol was a cherished resident of Centralia, Illinois, for many years, though her journey began in the small town of Stockton, Kansas, on Thursday, November 9, 1939, the daughter of Wilber and Orvillia (Reeder) Robinson.
Carol leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, survived by her devoted husband of 67 years: Howard D. Bierman of Centralia. Together they built a family brimming with love, raising three children: Bruce Bierman and his wife Juanita of Centralia, Barry Bierman and his wife Julie of Centralia, and Karen and husband Dan of Hennings of Sumter, South Carolina.
Her joy was further amplified by her grandchildren—Bryan J. Bierman of San Diego, California, Kimberly Burton and her husband Andy of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Jordan Hennings and Aleesa Johnson of Cameron, North Carolina—and her great-grandchildren: Ava and Liam Burton, and Ember Hennings. Carol was also a beloved sister to Charles Robinson and his wife Susan of Nashville, Tennessee, and Patricia Morgan of Stockton, Kansas, and a cherished aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Carol is now reunited with her parents, Wilber and Orvillia Robinson, her step-mother Mary Robinson, her grandson Jeffrey A. Bierman, sister Dorothy Mayo and her husband Robert, brother Greg Robinson, and brother-in-law Rusty Morgan, who all preceded her in death.
Carol dedicated her professional life to nurturing young minds and nourishing students as an Assistant Cook at Willow Grove School and was well-known to be an excellent seamstress. Beyond her occupation, she enriched many lives through her involvement with Calumet Christian Church, where she shared her love of music as a pianist and her wisdom teaching the Youth Group and 4th grade Sunday School Class. She was also a proud member of the Women of the Moose. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith were evident in all she did. Those who had the privilege of knowing her will remember her as a beacon of goodness and grace, whose life was spent in service to her family, church, and community.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Anthony Sweeney officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia.
