Patty Garcia passed away on January 5, 2025, at the High Point Residence in Centralia, Il.

Patty Jane (Fulton) Garcia was born on April 8, 1934, to Alexander John Fulton and Pearl Elizabeth (Criley) Fulton in West Frankfort, IL. She married Joseph R. Garcia on December 20, 1971, in Carlyle, IL and he preceded her in death on August 12, 1994.

Patty is survived by her stepson Joeseph C. Garcia of Albuquerque, NM, and nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Edwards of Breese IL, Barbara Dimmock of Methuen, MA, Joe Fulton of Centralia, IL, Timothy Fulton of Rantoul, IL, Gregory Fulton of Arcola, IL, Brian Fulton of Monticello, IL, Joseph Aloffo Jr of Cleveland, TN, Anthony Aloffo of Marion IL and many great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Garcia, parents Alexander and Pearl Fulton, brothers Alex J. Fulton, Bailey Dean Fulton, sister AvaNell (Fulton) Aloffo, sister-in-laws Lucille (Rusher) Fulton, Audrey (Masterson) Fulton, brother-in-law Joseph Aloffo Sr, Half- brother Samuel Fulton, Half-sister Liberty (Fulton) Robertson and special nephew Alex William Fulton.

Patty was a 1951 graduate of Frankfort Community High School in West Frankfort, IL. She retired from McDonald Douglas in St. Louis, Mo. as an Executive Secretary of 34 years. She was a member of the Cornerstone Methodist Church in Centralia, IL, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Patty loved to bake cookies and make candy. She was famous for her chocolate-covered turtles. She would bake cookies and make candy to send to family in many cities and states including Viet Nam for her nephew.

Patty was a perfectionist who enjoyed decorating her home and playing her piano. She was proud to be a Coal Miner’s daughter.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort. Visitation will be after Noon on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital and to St. Jude and will be accepted at the funeral home.
