Charlie Rankin, 83, of Ullin passed away on January 4th, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
He was born in Stoddard County Missouri on November 14, 1941. He was a second-generation “Rankin” bricklayer. He took pride in his work and enjoyed working in the family business.
Charlie is survived by his children, Malissa Beer and husband Kevin of Waverly IL, Denise Horner and husband Kenton of Dyersburg, TN, Lenny Beszczynski and wife Carrie of Dongola IL, Ricky Rankin of Ullin IL, Rowdy Yates and wife Kirsten of Montana, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Other surviving family members include his siblings, Gailen (Jake) Rankin of Salem and Nida Woodfall of Mt. Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman & Lucille Rankin, siblings Dallas Rankin, Edward Rankin, Landon Rankin, Joyce Heyduck, Fern Custer, and other family members.
Charlie fought the good fight against cancer. His highlights in life included hunting, fishing, pool, chess, checkers, cards, and storytelling.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Dunkard-Romine Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will occur from 11:00 am till the time of service.
