It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Taylor, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, who left us on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 53. Born on Saturday, March 20, 1971, in Joliet, Illinois. Michael married Denise Williams and from that union came his four children. He later married Jamie Bullock and she survives in Hoffman.

Michael enjoyed his profession of climbing cell phone towers. He was known for his dedication and hard work. Michael had a natural talent for working on cars, both engine and body work, a passion that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Bub and Rudy, were his four legged pride and joy. Famous for his playful sense of humor, he was fond of giving people a hard time. Michael’s journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and a deep commitment to those he held dear. Forever in our hearts, Michael Taylor’s legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the lives of those he touched.

Michael is survived by his loving mother, Sharon Gillis and husband Danny of Odin; his wife, Jamie Taylor of Hoffman; and his four adored children: Brendin Williams of Washington, Illinois, Roshelle Benninger of East Peoria, Illinois, Reese Taylor of Washington, Illinois, and Bradin Taylor of Odin. His two step daughters: Lexi Meyer of Mt. Vernon and Sierra Meyer of Odin. He was a proud grandfather to Carter, Breanna, Brylee, Braxton, and Brixton, and cherished the time spent with them. He is also survived by his loving siblings: Jessica Gillis of Carter, Jeff Gillis of Odin, Jennifer Clark and husband Keith of Breese, and Brenda Hails and husband Roger of Selmaville. Michael will be fondly remembered by his grandmother, Wanda Gillis of Odin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who brought joy into his life.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Dean Taylor, Sr., his brother, Ricky Dean Taylor, Jr., and grandparents: Jeff and Audrey McKinney and Elmer and Mary Taylor.

Currently at this time, the family has requested for no public services. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Michael’s memory to support the Centralia Humane Society and memorial donations will be accepted at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home, at 310 N.
