An 82-year-old rural Walnut Hill man was injured early Friday night when his side-by-side collided with a vehicle on Walnut Hill Road west of North Marge Lane.
Initial information indicates Jerry Davis was riding the side-by-side next to his property when he collided with another vehicle driven by 56-year-old Marilyn Alton of Centralia. The impact of the crash threw Davis from his vehicle. He was airlifted from the scene by Air Evac medical helicopter to a St. Louis hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries. Alton was not hurt.
State Police are continuing their investigation of the crash. Kell Firemen were called to the scene to assist. Because the crash was on the county line, both Jefferson and Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies were both called to do the initial investigation before handing it over to State Police.
The crash occurred at 5:28 Friday evening.
