A 37-year-old homeless Centralia man has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to one of two aggravated criminal sexual assault charges pending against him.
Bryce Jones was scheduled to go on trial in Marion County Court on Tuesday.
He admitted to committing a sexual act with a 15-year-old juvenile in a garage in the 400 block of East Broadway. The second count that was dropped was for a different sexual act with the same girl in the same incident in September. A charge of unlawful restraint for allegedly holding the victim’s waist to keep her from moving was also dropped.
In addition to the prison term, Jones was ordered to complete one year of mandatory supervised release when getting out of prison, pay a $200 public defender fee, and given credit for 96 days already served in the Marion County Jail.
