Three Jefferson Fire firefighters share Fireman of the Year honors

Three Jefferson Fire firefighters are sharing the 2023 Fireman of the Year honors.

Lieutenant Travis Settle of Mt. Vernon and firefighters Zack Kohler of Opdyke and Grant Reichert of Woodlawn were all involved in the rescue of a woman from her burning home in Bluford.

The department honored Paul Rainwater of Mt. Vernon as top responder. He has answered 710 calls so far this year.

This will be a record year for Jefferson Fire. They have already responded to 1,749 fire and medical calls this year. That compares to the total of 1,611 for all of 2022.
