The Salem Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program took 62 kids shopping for the Christmas Season on Saturday.
The President of the sponsoring Salem Fraternal Order of Police Chapter Tyler Rose says the community has been generous with donations to make the program possible.
“It’s been a great day. I think everybody is pretty much filling these carts up so we are doing very good. Bicycles, dart guns, video games, everything you could imagine.”
Rose says in addition to toys, kids were able to pick out gifts for family members and winter clothing if they did not have sufficient coats and shoes.
Members of the Salem Police Department were joined by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies in shopping for the kids on Saturday at the Salem Wal-Mart store.
