Advanced Surgical Technology (AST) held a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new, state-of-the-art facility in Mount Vernon on Friday.
The estimated 100 in attendance had the opportunity to tour the new facility at 3120 Veterans Memorial Drive, which represents another key addition to AST‘s growing presence in Southern Illinois.
AST Chief Operating Officer Abbey Gettinger says they are excited to bring general surgery, vascular surgery, breast surgery, aesthetics, and comprehensive breast care, including mammography, to the Mount Vernon area. She notes Dr. Merrilee Brandt, MD, FACS, a respected general surgeon specializing in breast care, will lead the breast care services.
The Mount Vernon location will also cater to surgical procedures that do not necessitate hospital stays.
“Our aim is to offer all-encompassing care for our patients, making their experience quicker, easier, and more elevated.”
AST Primary Care has existing facilities in Centralia, Herrin, Hoyleton, Marion, West Frankfort, Carlyle, and Salem.
