Robert G. Kackowski, 62, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at his residence. He was born October 23, 1962 in Waterbury, Connecticut to Francis “Buddy” and Carolyn (Mezzo) Kackowski. Robert was married to Pamela Wells and she survives.
Robert is survived by his mother, Carolyn Kackowski of Grotin, Connecticut; former wife and partner, Pamela Kackowski of Mount Vernon; daughter, Amanda Marquis and fiance, Rhyan Payne of Mount Vernon; and grandson, Jax Christopher Payne of Mount Vernon.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Buddy Kackowski; and son, Christopher Paul Kackowski.
Over the years, Robert worked as a painter, carpenter, and mechanic. His greatest joy was the time he shared with his grandson, Jax. He was Robert’s pride and joy. Robert will be remembered as a cherished grandfather, devoted father, loving partner, and beloved son.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Robert’s honor to the Kackowski family, in the care of Amanda Marquis.
