Dennis Stauffer, 79, of Salem, formerly of Alton, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 27th, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born on April 2nd, 1945, to Nelson and Thelma Ione (Jones) Stauffer. He would marry Helen Coleman on May 9th, 1964, in Alton, Illinois and she survives.
Dennis is survived by his wife: Helen Stauffer; two sons: Dennis Stauffer of Mt. Vernon and David Stauffer of White Bluff, TN.; two grandsons: Zachary Stauffer of Salem and Justin Ronza of Jonesboro, AR.; two granddaughters: Sara Sinclair of Salem and Katie Ronza of Bartlett, TN.; two great-granddaughters: Clementine Sinclair of Salem and Penelope Sinclair of Salem; and two sisters: Joan Harris of Brighton, Illinois and Jackie Fennell of Brighton, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Ione Stauffer, and a brother, Terry Stauffer.
Dennis was a veteran of the Army, during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed collecting toys from fast food restaurants, especially McDonalds, and other collectibles, but reading was his passion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren being the ones that he loved spending time with the most.
