Georgia M. Quinn, 83, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 4:05 pm on October 19, 2024, at Mount Vernon Health Care Center in Mount Vernon. She was born May 19, 1941, in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Georgie G. and Emily I. (Jones) Meadows.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Gina Lisenby of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Danny Quinn of Mount Vernon and Kelly Ivers and husband, Ryan of Albers, Illinois; great-grandson, Luca Ivers of Albers, Illinois; sisters, Mary Perry of Alexandria, Alabama and Joyce O’Neal of Mount Vernon, Illinois; brothers, Arthur Eugene Meadows “Artie” and wife, Linda of Mount Vernon, Harold Loyd Meadows “Harry” and wife, Dawn of Mount Vernon, Joe Meadows and wife, Nancy and Dix, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Grigg and sister, Diane Wright.
Georgia worked as a nurse’s aide for many years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Centralia and was of the Baptist Faith.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Mr. Marty Mills officiating. Inurnment will follow.
