Mary Carolyn Soldner, 91, of Kinmundy, Illinois passed away at 4:25 am, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.
Mary was born on November 26, 1932, in Odin, Illinois the daughter of John and Anna (Wolfe) Sebastaion. She married Bill Wyatt Soldner on November 29, 1950, in Paragould, Arkansas and they shared 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 20, 2011.
Mary was a proud homemaker who took great joy in maintaining her home and the family farm. Mary found immense pleasure in riding her lawn mower, tending to her yard, and helping Bill with the farm chores. Mary was right out there alongside Bill fixing fence to repainting their house, whatever needed to be done she did it. She was also actively involved in her community as a lifelong member of the Kinmundy United Methodist Church and the Twilight Circle group.
Mary is survived by her children: Bill S. (Janet) Soldner of Wartburg, Tennessee, Carolyn (Ken) Austin of Kinmundy; 4 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a special niece: Susie (Mike) Butler and family of Columbus, Ohio; and many other nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter: Heather Soldner; her siblings: Earline, Marge, Alice, and John; her mother and father-in-law: Eva and Raymond Soldner.
Graveside services to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Kinmundy, Illinois with Pastors Carol and Mike Rudzinski officiating. Burial will follow. Anyone attending the services is asked to gather directly at the cemetery just prior to the service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary’s memory to the Kinmundy-Alma Fire Department and EMTs.
