On October 1, 2024, at 8:57 am, Aletha Claybourn, 71, of Centralia, passed away peacefully, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born September 24, 1953 in Centralia, the daughter of Charles D. Claybourn and Dorothy A. (March) Claybourn.
Aletha is survived by her son: Shawn Claybourn of Centralia; 12 grandchildren: Jennifer Straughter and husband Andrew of Hoyleton, Kimberly Blake and husband Joe of Coulterville, Aly Harris and husband Devian of Nashville, Paige Chittenden of Centralia, Chayne Claybourn of Centralia, Brittany Claybourn of Belleville, Jacalyn Phelps of Centralia, Alyssa Claybourn of Centralia, Micheal Loyd of Centralia, Kensley Rowcliff of Centralia, Ashelyn Rowcliff of Centralia, and Dante Sussen of Centralia; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother: Ed Claybourn and wife Martha of Port Townsend, Washington; a sister: Anna Bremer of Metropolis, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Chuck Claybourn, Jim Claybourn, Jack Claybourn, and Bill Claybourn, a sister: Helen Claybourn, and a granddaughter: Desiree Bradley.
Aletha loved her family and spent as much time possible with everyone. She enjoyed cooking, listening to the radio in the kitchen, traveling, solving jigsaw puzzles, and going to deer camp. Aletha accomplished a lot of things during her life and she will be missed by all that knew her.
Per Aletha’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Sunday, October 20 at 1:00pm at #7 Mallard Drive, Shattuc, Illinois.
