Celebrate Centralia returns to downtown Centralia from two to eight Saturday.
Centralia Economic Development Derek Sherman says the annual event highlights art, wine and music.
“Our headliner is Taco Truck Rocks, very popular local members of the band, so we are very excited about that. Additionally this year we have two of the Carlyle Lake Wine Trail members are going to be there. Bretsch Winery and Crooked Creek Winery as well as 12 different food vendors that should be there at the event. Some of them are bakeries providing desert and other baked goods, and others are BBQ and other full service meals.”
Sherman says there will also be 41 vendors offering a variety of crafts and homemade goods. The Illinois Theater will be the sight of an art competition.
“Have our high school and public art competition in the Illinois Theater. We have 12 pieces of art submitted this year and we are pretty proud of that for people to come out and see these local artists that have worked really hard on their craft and have created very unique pieces.”
Sherman says all the activities will be in the 100 and 200 blocks of Broadway and the 100 block of South Locust Street.
The festivities have attracted big crowds in past years.
