John Groff, 70, of Sandoval, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
He was born in Centralia, Illinois on August 25, 1954, the son of John and Deloris (Puffer) Groff.
On January 29, 2009, he married Terri Donoho and she survives him in Sandoval.
In addition to his wife, Terri, of 15 years, he is also survived by two step-sons, Carl Barnhart of Chesterfield, Missouri and Jeff Barnhart (wife, Danielle) of Wentzville, Missouri; a step-daughter, Nicki Baker (husband Brian) of Spring, Texas; a brother, Bob Groff of Centralia; six grandchildren, Jackson Barnhart, Brody Barnhart, Conner Oetting, Charley Barnhart, Wyatt Baker and Addie Baker and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Deloris Groff, two sisters, Joann Johnson and Jane Williams, and a brother, Roger Groff.
John’s passion was riding his motorcycle and going to auctions.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 6 at noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Salem, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA).
