Walter Leon Keller, age 79 of Iuka, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at his home in Iuka.
Leon was born on October 4, 1944, in Salem, the son of Merle and Opal (Decker) Keller.
Survivors include his daughter, Tina Willman; her children, Cody Willman and wife McKenzie, Shauna Almaroad and husband Kent, Caleb Willman and wife Alyssa; and five great-grandchildren. A son, Scott Keller, and wife Regina; and their children, Scotty Keller Jr. and Caitlyn Weaver. A son, Lee Keller and wife Sherri; and their children, Donnie Keller and wife Alison and Cody Keller. A daughter, Lisa Woodward and husband Russell; and their children, Blake Woodward and wife Bailey and Jared Woodward; and great-grandchildren, Brett and Bella Woodward. He is also survived by a brother, Douglas Keller, and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda Fatheree; brother, Merle Allen Keller; nephew, Steve Fatheree; and son-in-law, Chuck Willman.
Leon was the owner of Gateway Auto Body Shop. He worked for Bettendorf Stanford, World Color Press, and retired from the Village of Iuka Water Department. He served as a Combat Engineer in the United States Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and grandkids. He was active in the American Legion, VFW, Masonic Lodge, and Shriners for many years.
Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Larry Albert officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Masonic Rites will be held immediately before the service. Burial will be in the Iuka Cemetery, where Military Rites will be accorded by the Salem American Legion. Memorials can be made to the D.A.V.
