The yearly audit for Salem Township Hospital shows the hospital had a ‘very, very good year’. Wipfli CPA David Goodman presented the audit report at Wednesday’s monthly hospital board meeting.

“We are at $10-million in income from operations.  Very positive.  Not something we are seeing a lot of out there with other hospitals, but we continue to grow here at Salem.”

Goodman says the hospital also benefited from COVID-19 relief funding that helped pay expenses during the slowdown of activities. He said no issues were found during the audit process and the hospital staff was very cooperative in providing needed information.

Meanwhile, the hospital’s new Chief Financial Officer Amy Gray delivered a positive financial report for August. She noted the hospital finished with a $1.6-million net income which was $200,000 over budget. Gray says the hospital provided $370,000 in charity care during the month and noted the hospital had the fulltime equivalent of 217 employees.
