Karen C. Wood, 73, of Mt. Vernon, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
She was born March 9, 1951, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Jesse Harrison Craig and Beatrice Florence (Paschedag) Craig.
Left to mourn Karen’s passing are her two sons: Billy Gene Sullivan of Mt. Vernon and Philip Craig Smolak and wife Violy of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren: Ashlyn Gulley and husband Jeremy, Olivia Fitch and husband Coleman, Andrew Sullivan and wife Kayla, and Eric Sullivan; two great-granddaughters: Lorelei and Maggie; a sister: Frances Ellis of St. Louis, Missouri; and father of Philip Smolak: Paul Wayne Smolak and wife Nancy of Herrin, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Terry Allen Sullivan, and a son: Kenny Allen Sullivan.
Per Karen’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public service will be held at this time.
