Centralia Police have made the first arrest in Marion County for violation of the new pretrial release provisions.
As a result, 45-year-old Christopher Ramey of East 6th in Centralia was taken into custody for the violation as well as on a new charge of resisting arrest.
Ramey had been released without bond on a signed pretrial release agreement after being arrested last weekend for alleged domestic battery. The provisions included that Ramey would not have contact with the alleged victim or her residence.
Judge Chad Miller warned Ramey at the time that if he failed to appear in court as ordered and did not follow the pre-trial conditions as ordered he could be detained without bond in the Marion County Jail for 90 days as his cases precede through the court process.
Centralia Police say an officer passing the alleged victim’s home on East 6th reported seeing Ramey’s truck parked on the street and Ramey standing in the driveway. When approached by police, Ramey allegedly didn’t stop, got into his vehicle and drove off. He reportedly stopped for police about 50 feet away and denied being at the house. At that point, he was taken into custody.
