Lee E. Arnaud, 87, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 4:25 a.m. on September 15, 2024, at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon.
He was born April 13, 1937, in Missouri to the late Ashton J. and Helen (Jaegers) Arnaud. Lee married Catherine (Levert) Arnaud on August 14, 1982. They were blessed with nearly forty years of marriage before she preceded him in death on July 31, 2022.
Lee is survived by his sisters, Margaret Orrick and husband, Don of Bonnie and Linda George and husband, Larry of Mount Vernon; daughters, Margie Arnaud and Brenda Strothcamp, both Sullivan, Missouri; grandchildren, Holly Robertson and husband, Troy of O’Fallon, Missouri, Jill Brakensiek of New Zealand, Elizabeth Hassen of Hawaii, Tony White of Sullivan, Missouri, Sara White of Texas, Jacob Strothcamp and wife, Andrea of Bourban, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Zach, Savannah, and Ava; stepdaughters, Debbie, Donna, and Kellie; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Lee was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Arnaud; sister, Loraine Meador; special uncle, Fritz Jaegers; stepdaughter, Shelly Cooper; and a step-grandson.
Lee worked as a custodian for Mount Vernon District 80 at Casey Middle School for many years.
A Visitation will be held Friday, September 20, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm, and Reverend Robert Craig will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
