A home being torn down at 205 West Florida in Sandoval caught fire late Thursday afternoon and was destroyed by fire.
Sandoval Fire Chief Chad Parson says the home was engulfed in flames upon their arrival. He reports the owner Dale Hartnell was cleaning up portions of the structure that had suffered significant storm damage several weeks ago. A trash pile was burning nearby and after the owner left, the structure caught fire. Parson says it is unknown how the trash fire was able to reach the structure.
Firemen were on the scene for about an hour beginning at 4:06 pm.
Odin Firemen brought an engine to the scene on mutual aid.
