The Franklin Park Bobcats dropped to 1-1 on the year with a 9-8 loss to Carlyle. Salem trailed 4-1 after the opening inning and 7-2 after four, but came up with 4 runs in the fifth to cut it to 7-6. Salem took lead with 2 runs in the sixth only to see Carlyle get 2 more in the bottom of the inning to get the win. Huck Mulvaney tripled and drove in 2 runs, Silas Lux had 3 RBI, Kyler King added 2 hits, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Scout Puricelli scored a run, Trenton Shelton added a single and run, Bentley Bryan had a hit and 2 runs scored. Jax Schaubert pitched well in relief for the Bobcats going 5 innings scattering 5 hits and 5 earned runs with 7 strikeouts. Franklin Park is right back in action today at home hosting Marion.
Central City scored 3 late runs to lift them over Trinity St Mary’s 6-3. Cooper Breiter had 2 hits and 2 runs along with Drew Jack who also drove in a run. Archie Goewey added 2 hits and an RBI with Kolton Cook adding the other RBI. Logan Williams scored a run. Breiter earned the win going 3.2 allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs with 5 strikeouts. Cook also pitched going 2.1 innings of one-hit ball.
