The Salem Wildcats boy’s golf team started the fall season at the Hickory Stick Invitational in Wood River. In a field of 21 teams, Salem finished tied for first with Mascoutah shooting a team score of 310.
Playoff was decided by the fifth team score where Mascoutah edged out the Cats 84-86.
Freshman Landen Maxey led Salem with a 73 and tied for 4th overall. Jairen Stroud was 7th shooting 74, Logan Lockhart 77 with Cale Harris and Rhett Detering adding 86’s.

The Lady Wildcats won the Charleston Team Scramble to open their season as well.
