Bobcats Open Season With Home Win, Host Newton Saturday
The Franklin Park Bobcats held off Woodlawn to win their season opener 8-4. Salem got out in front early with a 6-1 lead after 3 innings, but Woodlawn scored 3 runs in the fourth to make it interesting. They couldn’t overcome 5 errors. For Salem, Silas Lux, Kai Graham and Bentley Bryan had RBI. Huck Mulvaney went 2-3 with singles from Owen Tennyson, Kyler King. Kaden Orell scored a run, Scout Puricelli scored twice. King got the start going 3 innings allowing 3 runs on 1 hit. Zane Applegate worked the final 4 innings for the win allowing 1 hit and no earned runs. Salem returns to action tomorrow when they host Newton for a double header.
Patoka/Odin & Iuka Advance To OBC Tournament Semis
Patoka/Odin got a big win over Raccoon 10-0 scoring early in the bottom of the first on a Hunter Thompson double and he would score. The Mohawks would score 5 runs on 4 hits in the bottom of the third. Blaize Murray had a 2-run hit, Kody Burks tripled, Archer Bechdoldt also singled and scored and Alec Payne had an RBI. Thompson gave up 1 hit over 5 innings with 4 strikeouts. Drake Rector started for Raccoon. The OBC baseball tournament continues today with semifinal game featuring 2nd seed Selmaville taking on Patoka/Odin at 4pm
The other semifinal will see top-seed Central City hosting Iuka after the Pirates earned a 12-3 win over Field. Landon White struck out 10 allowing 7 hits and 3 runs in 5 innings. Lucas Hicks and Zach Jones each had 2 hits for Iuka. Trygg Aaron, Robbie Petrea, Lucas Hicks, Jones and Wyatt Eagan each drove in a run.
Blackhawks Fall To ALIS To Open Season
Sandoval opened up their season with a short inning loss to Altamont Lutheran 17-0. Sandoval will host SC at 4pm today at Sandoval City Park.
