Congressman Mike Bost is calling the indictments against former President Donald Trump a ‘clear witch hunt’.

Bost commented on the latest indictments surrounding the January 6th incident at the Capitol during a visit to the Marion County Fair Friday evening.

“I think what we have is a clear case of justice being heavy handed in one way and light handed in another.  That is coming out in all of our investigations.  Donald Trump has been charged in 3 different courts and they are pursuing this.  Yet we have the Hunter Biden situation, some very deep questions the Department of Justice did not go into on the then former Vice President now current President.”

Bost notes Trump has attorneys to deal with the indictments and he’s uncertain how it will impact his campaign for President.

“It doesn’t help, but I think what it does do is motivate his base because they are so frustrated as its so blatant.  No other President had ever faced what he did in his time of office or what he’s faced since out of office.  Any other person probably would of thrown up their hands and say I’m not going to deal with this.  You can dislike his personality but his policies were great.”

Bost says he has been a supporter of Donald Trump in the past and remains so going forward.

While at the Marion County Fair, Bost read from a proclamation he first read into the Congressional Record on the House Floor January 24th honoring Marion County on its 200th birthday. The county board had a display of items in the exhibit building at the fair highlighting the county’s 200th birthday.
