State Police say two Cisne residents were killed in a three-vehicle crash in a construction zone on US 50 west of Olney last Friday morning.

The two are identified as 22-year-old Justin Lynn of Cisne, the driver of one of the vehicles, and his passenger, 24-year-old Colten Stewart of Cisne.

Preliminary investigation indicates a semi-truck driven by 18-year-old Jonathan Wilson of Taylorsville, Mississippi failed to reduce speed for traffic stopped in a construction zone and ran into the rear of the car driven by Lynn.   The impact pushed the Lynn car into a vehicle stopped in front of it driven by 32-year-old Cody Wolfe of Clay City.

The Lynn vehicle caught fire as a result of the crash and both Lynn and Stewart were declared deceased on the scene by the Richland County Coroner’s office.

Both other drivers along with a passenger in the Wolfe vehicle, 23-year-old Zane Farrar of Louisville, were all transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.

The driver of the semi was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

The crash occurred at 6:50 last Friday morning.
