The Senior Legion District 23 Playoffs opened up last night at Aviston City Park. In the opening game, 2nd seed Trenton Gators shutout 3rd seed Aviston Commodores 6-0. Seth Woodawll with a complete game 10 strikeout performance. Trenton got 2 RBI each from Evan Wessell and Hayden Hoerchler.
In the 2nd opening round game, the top-seed Aviston Express shutout Carlyle 8-0 as Chase Lewis tosses a no-hitter. He struckout 12 on 85 pitches. Dalton Boruff and Landon Geragosian had 2 hits each.
The Tournament continues tonight as the Commodores and Carlyle will play in an elimination game at 6pm followed by the District Semifinal between Trenton and the Express at 8pm.
