The Salem Wildcats advanced to the varsity summer league championship game after knocking off Flora last night in the semifinal 4-0. Jalen Inlow tripled home a run to start the scoring in the fourth inning. Noah Nix and Josh Powless also had RBI. Kam Wilkins had a hit along with Gavin Zimmermann and Cooper Lobek. Nate Paulson played a great defensive game in right field and also scored a run. The winning pitcher was Rhett Detering who went all 7 allowing 1 hit and struck out 11. Salem advances to tonight’s 6:30 championship game at SCHS Field when they will play Altamont after they beat Mount Vernon in the other semifinal. The first game of the day will be at 4:30 with Mount Vernon and Flora playing for 3rd place.
