A pickup truck crashed through the front door and glass windows at the Glass and Sass Head Shop next to Discount Tobacco on Westgate Avenue early Thursday night.

Salem Police say the driver of the truck, 48-year-old Chris Keller of Litton Street in Odin, told them his foot slipped off the brake as he was pulling into a parking space in front of the building, jumped over the curb onto the sidewalk, and into the building.

There were no injuries and the pickup truck sustained only very minor damage while the front of the head shop sustained heavy damage.  In addition to the windows and doors being knocked out, some of the front brickwork was also damaged.

There were two employees in the store but neither were close to the front door when the crash occurred.

Salem Police, Salem Fire, and United Medical Response were all called to the scene at 5:50 Thursday night.
