The SC 15u Storm Chasers hosted and won a tournament this weekend at Lions Field in Kinmundy. They opened with a 5-0 win over the Shelby County Legion before losing to the Illinois Black Sox 9-4 in their final pool play game.
SC opened Sunday with a 12-0 win over the Breese Flames before winning the title game over the Cumberland Rage 15-0.
SC 5 Shelby County 0:
SC jumped on Shelby County early with 5 runs in the first 3 innings on their way to a win. Colton Shelton was 2-3 with 2 RBI for SC, Walden added an RBI. Cody Beard had a hit and a run, Brody Collier also singled.
SC 4 Illinois Black Sox 9:
A late Black Sox run lifted them over the Storm Chasers in the final pool play game. For SC, Walden finished with 2 RBI, Cody Beard homered, Trevan Sidwell had a hit, Braden Rector singled and scored
SC 12 Breese 0:
SC scored 6 runs in the opening inning and six more in the third. Colton Shelton tossed the 3-inning no-hitter. Ian Jones drove in 2 runs for SC along with Collier, Sidwell went 2-2 with 3 RBI. Also driving in SC runs were Hunter horn, Chase Guerrettaz, Shelton and Walden. Beard doubled and scored two runs.
SC 15 Cumberland 0:
It was no contest in the championship as SC earned the title in dominant fashion. Braden Rector doubled and drove in 2 runs, Willenborg also had 2 RBI. Cody Beard scored 2 runs, Ian Jones 2 hits and 3 runs, Shelton scored 3 times and drove in a run. Collier also scored a run.
