The SC Storm Chasers 14u won the championship at the GMB World Series Tournament in O’Fallon, Missouri over the weekend.
After beginning the tournament with a tough 9-0 loss to the Spudcats, they would tie the Rolla A’s 8-8 and finish pool play on Saturday with a win over Gamers Academy 13-10.
This would set up SC for a long day on Saturday. They opened with a 6-3 win over the Spudcats. Trent Ingram drove in 2 runs with Garret Shumate adding an RBI. Keytin Grawe had 2 hits and scored 3 runs.
They then beat the SI Shockers 9-7. Ingram homered and ddrove in 4 runs. Kaiden Harrell also had an RBI with Grawe adding a hit and run and Luke Shumate also scored. Garret Shumate had 2 hits and Hayden Prather a hit and run. Gavin Meinhart added 2 hits.
In the title game SC beat the St Louis Naturals 11-5. Luke Shumate drove in 3, 2 each from Ingram and Garret Shumate. Harrell and Rhodes added RBI. Boston Isaacs pitched in the win along with Luke Shumate and Prather.
