The Centralia City Council Monday night will be asked to approve its annual audit from C.J. Schlosser and Company LLC. City Manager Kory Smith says the city’s assets exceeded its liabilities at the close of the most recent fiscal year by $13.4-million and its net position increased by $3.6-million during the last fiscal year. Short and long term liabilities also increased by nearly $10.9-million as a result of significant increases in the IMRF, police and fire pension liabilities. The full audit analysis will be presented at the city council meeting.
A new water sales agreement between the City of Centralia and the Village of Irvington will be presented. It would run until December 31st, 2028 The rate per thousand gallons will be $4.00 effective July 1st. The 2022 rate was $2.89 per thousand gallons. There will be an annual increase during the life of the contract based on the consumer price index.
Mayor Bryan Kuder will ask the council to approve a number of committee appointments. The appointments include:
Veterans Committee: Bill Smith, Craig Ulen, Judy Sutherland and Hugh Moran
Industrial Commission: David Agee, Ty Orr, James Rueter, Bob Feig, Dick Cary and Bill Sprehe.
Airport Advisory Committee: Tom Simpson, Doug Pahnke, Tom Walsh, and John Denton.
Tourism Commission: Rachel Wallace and Jessiycka Nix-Coleman.
Cemetery Advisory Commission: Wayne Sensel, Steve Coleman and Barbara Crain.
Fire Pension Board: Jack Graham.
The Centralia City Council meeting begins at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
