The SC 15u is hosting a tournament this weekend. After beating Shelby County last night, SC returns to action today at 3pm against the Black Sox. SC won 5-0 as four pitchers combined for the shutout. At the plate, Salem junior Colton Shelton went 2-3 with 2 RBI. Cody Beard added a hit and a run and Brody Collier singled.
The day today begins at 9am with Breese and Cumberland followed by Cumberland and the Black Sox at 11, then Shelby County and Breese at 1pm before the SC game. After pool play finishes today, the tournament will go to single elimination bracket play tomorrow.
In other tournament action, the SC 14u Storm Chasers opened up the GMB World Series in Ellisville, Missouri with a 9-0 loss to the Spudcats. They will conclude pool play today with a pair of games.
