A member of the Nashville FFA has been elected as Vice President of the Illinois FFA. Eric Wisley was elected at the group’s annual convention this week in Springfield.

The new state president is Thad Bergschneider from Franklin.

He says when he was thinking about running for state office, he had to take every chance that is in front of him for growth and opportunity.   He wants to share that message with every member of the FFA.

Bergschneider said, “When people see State officers, I think they usually think about the stage first. It’s those people up on the stage who are talking to those hundreds, thousands of members at a time, but for me, the moments are when I get at conferences and I get one-on-ones with campers or kids who are coming to the conferences, and I just get that chance to share with them, to share with these kids who are just starting their FFA journey, and I get to tell them to take every opportunity that comes their way, and I’ve loved doing that and I’m excited to do that in the next year.”

Others elected to statewide office were Cooper Nelson of the Canton FFA as Reporter, Riley Kessler of the Staunton FFA Secretary, and Ben Bremmer from the Pearl City FFA as Treasurer.
