The Marion County Treasurer’s office has mailed the 2022 payable 2023 Real Estate Tax Bills.
Treasurer Gary Purcell says the total amount to be collected this year is $ 42 million, 819-thousand dollars. That’s up more than $ 2.2 million from last year. Another $ 2.2 million will be collected in railroad taxes.
The due dates of this year’s bills will be July 27th and September 27th.
You are asked to review your bill before payment or make sure you received your bill, especially if you bought or sold a property, settled an estate, transferred property, and or paid off a mortgage within the last year or pay bills for a relative.
The Treasurer’s Office is located in Room 105 at the Marion County Courthouse. If making payments at the courthouse, please be prepared for security screening and occasional limited parking. The office is open from eight am to four pm Monday-Friday to receive in-person payments.
Payment options include mailing in your payment, paying at most local banks and credit unions, or using the drop box on the west side of the courthouse. If payers are using Online bill pay from your checking account, please include the Property Index Number with your payment. ACH checking account payments (e-checks) or credit/debit card payments may be made online at ilmarion-dot-com.
