Salem 14/15 Wildcats Don’t Allow A Hit In Sweep Sunday

The Salem 14/15 Wildcats earned a pair of wins yesterday on the road against the I-70 Prowlers as Salem pitching didn’t allow a hit all afternoon.  In the opening game, Brendan Smith was really good on the mound in a 6-1 victory.  Smith worked 4 innings allowing just 1 run and struck out 9.  Jackson Green worked the final 2 innings allowing nothing and striking out 4.  At the plate, Kyler King had a 2-run double and scored a run, Smith added a hit and RBI, Eli Lograsso had 2 hits including a triple with a run scored, Payton Gullion had 2 hits and drove in a run, Carter Lowe singled, Avery Gullion had a hit and scored twice.  Aaden Rostance had a hit and run, Max Vincent also scored.

Salem won the second game 15-2.  Rostance started going 2 innings with 3 strikeouts, Max Vincent worked an inning and Avery Gullion worked 2 perfect innings to close the game with 5 strikeouts and also included Brendan Smith throwing out a batter running to 1st on what appeared to be a single up the middle, until it wasn’t.  Avery Gullion doubled going 2-4 with 2 runs scored, Carter Lowe had a triple and drove in 2 runs, Lograsso and Payton Gullion drove in 2 and scored 2 runs each, Smith had a hit, run and RBI, Max Vincent drove in a run and scored twice, King had 2 RBI and 3 runs scored.  R%ostance had 2 hits, Green scored 3 times.
