The Centralia City Council Monday night will be asked to seek the demolition or repair of a derelict property at 334 North Elm where ten people were allegedly found living in deplorable conditions last month. The building was reportedly boarded up and had no water. The city intend to pursue demolition of the property with liens being placed for the full amount, including court costs.
The council will be asked to approve the sale of properties at 908 North Elm, 215 West 3rd, and 614 South Pine where substandard homes were earlier torn down.
A request is being made by the Centralia Lake Association for a Fireworks Display on Saturday night, July 1st.
The SAFE organization is requesting to place decorations upon city owned property in honor of inclusiveness during Pride Month.
The council will recognize Water Treatment Plant Lab Technician Kent Niermann for 30 years of Service and Street Maintenance Operator Brandon Palm for 15 years of Service.
Mayor Bryan Kuder will read a proclamation recognizing Juneteenth and the celebration in Laura Leake Park this coming Saturday.
The council meeting begins at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
