The Salem Jr Legion evened up their record at 2-2 on the season with a pair of wins at Newton last night. Salem opened with an 11-4 victory. Brody Collier was the winning pitcher with relief help from Carter Lowe and Eli Lograsso. Avery Gullion had 2 hits including a double, 3 RBI and scored a run. Alijah Carroll had a hit and 3 RBI with Keytin Grawe and Payton Gullion adding RBI along with Colton Rogers.
In the 2nd game, Salem was 7-5 winners holding off Newton in the final two innings. Evan Barnes was the winning pitcher going 4 solid innings. He earned the win with Avery Gullion getting the 2 inning save. Carter Lowe doubled twice with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Rogers and Barnes drove in 2 runs each.
The Salem Jr Legion will host Mount Vernon on Thursday afternoon for a double header starting at 5pm at Salem High School.
