The Goreville Lady Blackcats will play their state semifinal at Louisville Slugger Stadium in Peoria and take on Peru St Bede who won the Sterling Super over Orangeville 6-1. The other semifinal will feature Glasford Illini Bluffs who needed 8-innings to beat Carrollton 3-2 at Athens. They will play LeRoy who in 8-innings won the Bloomington Super over Ottawa Marquette 2-1.
In 2a, Freeburg lost just their 2nd game of the year falling in the Johnston City Supers to the host Lady Indians 2-0. They will now play Beecher who beat Lombard Montini at Lisle 4-0. The other semifinal will see St Anthony against Taylor Ridge Rockridge. The Lady Bulldogs won the Decatur Super by a final of 7-6 over Quincy Notre Dame. Rockridge pounded Rock Falls 14-2 at East Peoria.
Today in 3a softball Sectional semifinals, Carbondale takes on Waterloo at Highland.
