A 34-year-old Salem man faces three charges in Marion County Court following a domestic dispute and fire in Centralia.

Brant Renfro of West Lovell has been charged with aggravated domestic battery for allegedly impeding the breathing of a woman on May 24th and domestic battery for allegedly punching the same person in the head with his hand the following day.  Renfro has also been charged with criminal damage to property for allegedly setting a mattress on fire without consent.

Renfro was arrested by Centralia Police early Thursday morning when a car that had been reported stolen in Salem was seen in the parking lot of the Centralia Huck’s store.   Renfro is accused of entering his mother’s home on West Lovell Street in Salem and taking the keys while she was sleeping about an hour before the car was located in Centralia.  At this time, no formal charges have been filed in connection with allegedly taking the vehicle.

The bond for Renfro was set at $25,000 during his first court appearance on Friday.  If released on bond, he was ordered to have no contact with the victim and abstain from drugs.   The court will assist in trying to find placement for Renfro in an inpatient drug treatment program.   The public defender was appointed to represent Renfro.   He is due back in court on June 20th for a preliminary hearing.
