Salem 9U Wildcats Baseball Team Places 2nd in Salem Tournament The Salem Wildcats 9U showed well during the annual travel tournament held at the Salem Little League Complex over the weekend.
Salem finished 2nd place in the 8 team tourney, after logging 2 come from behind victories on Sunday to reach the championship game. The Cats finished the tournament with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses.
In pool play on Saturday, Salem fell to the Casey Irish by a score of 8 to 4. Later in the day, the Cats defeated the eventual tournament champion Dieterich Crush by a score of 14-6.
On Sunday, Salem defeated Olney on a walk off RBI single in the quarterfinal. In the semi-final, Salem once again had to make a late game comeback to send the Teutopolis Sandlot home with the 10-5 loss.
Salem eventually fell to the Dieterich Crush by a score of 8-6 after yet another late game rally came up just short.
