A 27-year-old Centralia man has been arrested by Centralia Police for alleged domestic battery and interfering with a report of domestic battery.   Cameryn Wills of South Lincoln was taken to the Marion County Jail.

Centralia Police arrested 24-year-old Abiuamicor Vasquez-Perez of South Pleasant in Centralia for domestic battery.   He was also taken to the Marion County Jail.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of a lawn cart from a home in the 2900 block of Selmaville Road in rural Salem sometime in the past week.  It is valued at $200.

The Salem Fire Protection District was called out twice on Saturday to what turned out to be false alarms.  The first call was to the Tom McCarthy home on South Hotze where a steam shower set off a smoke detector.  The second was a call about a power pole on fire in the 1100 block of North Pine.  There was no actual fire with smoke coming from a nearby controlled fire making it appear the pole was on fire.
