The Salem Lady Wildcats look for their first regional championship since the mid-80s as they will head to Greenville in their 2a regional finals this morning to take on Staunton. The Lady Cats are poised to make a run behind solid defense, pitching and hitting so far this season. Game time is at 11 a.m. and will be broadcast on 100.1 FM and streaming at WJBDradio.com. The winner will advance to the Freeburg Sectional for a Tuesday afternoon game against the Althoff champ.
Also in 2a softball today, Mater Dei and Columbia play from Roxana.
Yesterday in regional championships, Freeburg threw a no-hitter in beating Central 6-0, Flora won on their home field over Newton 2-1, St Anthony beat the hosts at TTown 14-4.
