Police Beat for Thursday, May 18th, 2023

Four people were brought to the Marion County Jail on outstanding warrants on Wednesday.

34-year-old Ellen Boyce of Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police on an outstanding Gibson County, Indiana warrant and is being held without bond.

34-year-old Jonathon Kaufman of Elkton Road in Nashville was arrested on an outstanding Marion County felony failure to appear warrant in a criminal trespass to a residence with a person present.   He was transported from the Washington County Jail at Nashville to the Marion County Jail where he is being held in lieu of $5,000 bond.

45-year-old Shaun Vaughn of North Beech in Centralia was arrested on a Marion County felony failure to appear warrant on a 2001 burglary conviction and is being held on $5,000 bond.

28-year-old Kaeleigh Pannell of South Sycamore in Centralia posted $250 bond and was released on an outstanding Marion County traffic warrant.

The Salem Fire Protection District was called to the Steve Quinn home in the 42-hundred block of Cartter Road South of Salem early Wednesday night.   the home was filling with smoke.  The problem turned out to be a burned out furnace motor, but no fire.   Fire officials say the smoke cleared on its own.
