The Lady Cats won their 2a regional opener beating Litchfield 5-0 at Greenville. Sophomore Lilly Blagoue was the winner striking out 12 and her defense was tremendous behind her. Breanna Thurman drove in a run with an RBI double. Miranda Podergois went 2-3 with a triple and RBI, Nat Lee also drove in a run. Salem will play Friday for the regional title.
The 1a South Central regional was postponed yesterday due to the rain and they will play today. South Central and Webber will play the first semifinal at 3:30 followed by the 4pm game between Grayville and Wayne City.
Also today in 1a at Altamont, St Elmo/Brownstown takes on Edwards County. OPS Lady Eagles are in action today against the hosts at Marissa,Okawville plays Dupo and New Athens.
Yesterday in 1a regional games played, Carlyle beat the hosts at New Athens 4-2. Waltonville won at home beating Gallatin County 11-0.
