Prep Softball – Salem Drops Cahokia Showdown, OPS Keeps Rolling

Lady Cats Fall In Cahokia Showdown

In a battle for the Cahokia Conference softball title, Freeburg knocked off Salem 3-0 to claim the outright crown.  Lilly Balgoue struck out 6 in the circle.  Makenna Smith back from a broken thumb had a hit.  The Salem JV lost 11-5.  Bria Murray hit her first career high school home run.  Jaelyn Keller and Mia Bookhout both drove in 2 runs.  Salem will host Pinckneyville today for Senior Day at Tully Park.

OPS Keeps Rolling

OPS improved to 17-6 on the season with a 22-3 win over Cisne.  Rheagan Rollinson had 2 hits along with Lauren Robb and Carmen Wilderman.  The Eagles also got hits from Trista Moore, Maddie Starr, Madie Garrett, Brooklynn Hill, Kenzie Wilkerson, Harley Harper, Gwen Belcher, Sierra Ford, Jaida Andrews and Autumn Wiese.  OPS will travel to Vandalia on Thursday.
