A 19-year-old Centralia man has been arrested for possession of child pornography.
Brent Morris of East Calumet was taken into custody at his home Monday night following an investigation that began in December when the Center for Missing and Exploited Children allegedly captured a snap chat that showed a video of a person under the age of 18 engaged in a sex act.
The information was sent to the Illinois Attorney General Task Force and investigated by Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Detective Bobby Wallace. Search warrants were reportedly issued for Morris’ electronic devices where other videos of minors involved in sex acts were allegedly found.
Centralia Police Administrative Lieutenant Steve Whritenour says there appears to be no connection between Morris and another Centralia teen arrested over the weekend on child pornography charges.
